Get Fire Fit - fitness training for the modern firefighter

Do you want more support with your fitness?

The purpose of the firefighter fitness workshops is to provide an opportunity to develop females who are interested in joining the Service, to include ongoing engagement and support leading up to future recruitment.

Two sessions will be offered at each location. A bespoke programme of fitness and nutritional advice will be provided and progress checked periodically.

All sessions will take place between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on a Thursday at the following locations.

Rhyl 19th September and 21st November
Wrexham 26th September and 28th November
Caernarfon 3rd October and 5th December

Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis as there are only 20 spaces per location, therfore booking is essesnital. Due to availability you will not be able to switch between the locations.

You will have access to join a closed Facebook group with other indivuduals who attend the sessions and the fitness team will keep in regular contact with you between the sessions.

Session 1 includes:

Introduction regarding the firefighter role, physical and practical assessments and fitness requireements. Please note that the below benchmark assessments will be available so that the fitness team can provide you with support to achieve the required standard.

Upper body strength
Cardiovascular fitness (bleep test or 1.5 mile run)
Grip strength
Fitness Circuit and 8 week fitness progrmme provided.

Re Assessments:

Grip strength
Fitness Circuit and 8 week fitness programme review.
