Incident – Conwy Tunnel Vehicle Fire

Update 15:10

Our crews are currently in attendance at a vehicle fire in the Conwy Tunnel on the A55.

The tunnel is expected to be closed in both directions for some time.

Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

We’ll provide updates as soon as we can.

This has now been declared a major incident. We're working with multi-agency partners to control the fire, protect the environment and re-open the tunnel as soon as its safe to do so.

Please close windows and doors if you live in the vicinity.
