The Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd, Mr Edmund Seymour Bailey, presented Long Service and Good Conduct Medals and 30 and 40-years clasps to operational staff from the Service during an awards ceremony held at Venue Cymru, Llandudno on Thursday evening 24^th September.

The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is awarded to firefighters by His Majesty's Representative in recognition of 20 years of service and the clasps are issued in recognition of 30 and 40 years of service.

Staff were also presented with awards recognising 20 years of loyal service helping to protect their communities, and a number of staff nominated Community Awards were presented to recognise members of staff and the community who have worked hard to improve community safety in North Wales.

10 members of staff were awarded with Long Service and Good Conduct 20-year medals:

• Adam Leatham - Head of Technical Operations
• Daniel Gwynn – Station Manager, Protection
• Mark Smith - Incident Command and Driving School Manager
• Andrew Williams – Locality Manager, Porthmadog
• Gwyn Roberts – Watch Manager, Bangor Fire Station
• Pam Roberts – Watch Manager, Prevention
• Andy Curran - Crew Manager, Llandudno Fire Station
• Gavin Roberts – Crew Manager, Rhyl Fire Station
• Laura Williams - Firefighter, Buckley Fire Station
• Lawrence Williams - Firefighter, Benllech Fire Station

Seven members of staff were honoured for 30 years of service:

• Jane Honey - Deputy Head of Prevention.
• Osian Hywel -Station Manager, Bangor
• Dave Allen - Watch Manager, Johnstown Fire Station
• Jeff Evans - Training Delivery Watch Manager
• Dai Wyn Jones – Crew Manager, Dolgellau
• Sarah Rock  - Firefighter, Llandudno Fire Station
• Mike Plant - Retired Area Manager responsible for Planning, Performance and Transformation

Two members of staff were recognised for 40 years of service:

• Timothy Williams – Firefighter, Wrexham Fire Station
• Sheryl Teal Bromley  - Following her sad passing earlier this year, Sheryl’s award was posthumously presented to her family at the awards evening.

There were also two recipients of 20 year Loyal Service awards, presented by Councillor Dylan Rees, Chair of the Fire and Rescue Authority:

• Rhian Williams – Senior Corporate Communications Officer
• Lynne Jones - Executive Assistant

Commitment to the Welsh language award - Shoned Worsley and Chelsea Tideswell (Firefighters, Control)

Aspiring Achiever award  - Kara Ainscough (Firefighter at Rhyl Fire Station)

Commitment to Charity award  -  Hannah Williams (Firefighter, Control)

Contribution to Diversity award - Gemma Lee (Stores Supervisor)

Community Safety Partner Award - Delyth Jones and Jason Diamond, North Wales Police
